Cheddar George - The Horse Hunters Festival
Our ancestors came Cheddar Gorge, at the end of the Ice Age, hunting large herds of wild horses, which they stampeded over the edge of the cliffs. Our historical re-enactors, dressed in deerskins, demonstrate Stone Age Survival skills of fire and flint-tool making and show off various artefacts and human and animal remains excavated from the caves.
